Terms of Use
Seriex is operated by Huang Chen Ting ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Seriex, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Seriex.
1. The service
Seriex helps you preview the vocabulary, phrases, and cultural references of a TV episode before you watch it. Seriex does not provide video. You watch episodes on a legal streaming service of your choice.
Learning content may be updated over the internet. We may add, change, or remove series and vocabulary content at any time.
2. Points
- Points unlock episode content. You can earn them by watching rewarded ads, keeping a daily streak, and in other ways shown in the app.
- Points have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, transferred, or refunded.
- Points are stored on your device and are lost if you delete the app or switch devices.
- We may change how points are earned and spent.
3. Seriex Pro
Seriex Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store and provides the features described on the purchase screen. Plans include:
- Auto-renewable subscriptions (quarterly and yearly)
- A one-time lifetime purchase
Auto-renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone. After you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the current period.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Refunds and restoring purchases
Apple handles refunds under its own policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. After switching devices or reinstalling, tap "Restore Purchases" on the Seriex Pro purchase screen while signed in with the same Apple ID.
4. Intellectual property
The Seriex app and its learning content, including explanations, translations, curated examples, and interface design, belong to us and are protected by copyright.
TV series titles, character names, and related trademarks belong to their respective owners. Seriex is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the producers, distributors, or rights holders of these series. Their names are used only to identify which series the learning content relates to.
5. Acceptable use
When using Seriex, you agree not to:
- Copy, distribute, or resell Seriex learning content, or extract it in bulk by automated means
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app, except where the law expressly permits it
- Interfere with or disrupt Seriex, including its ads and purchases
6. Third-party services
Seriex uses third-party services including Apple, Google AdMob, YouTube, and RevenueCat. Their own terms apply when you use them.
7. Disclaimer
Seriex is provided "as is". We work to keep the content accurate but do not guarantee it is error-free, that you will reach any particular learning outcome, or that the service will be uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Seriex. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Seriex in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights under the laws of your country.
9. Apple
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Seriex or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Seriex.
- If Seriex fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Seriex.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to Seriex, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and intellectual property infringement claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
- Your use of Seriex is also subject to Apple's Standard License Agreement (EULA).
10. Termination
You may stop using and delete Seriex at any time. If you breach these terms, we may stop providing the service to you.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China). The Taiwan Taipei District Court is the court of first instance for any dispute arising from them, unless mandatory law in your country provides otherwise.
12. Changes
We may update these terms and will change the effective date on this page. By continuing to use Seriex after an update, you accept the new terms.
